The problem is that to fit all that real estate onto a piece of film or digital sensor requires that individual details are very small, so small that they often go un-noticed in the final image. The key to successful use of wide-angle lenses is to get close to your subject the closer the better.

Even though I was considering the Pentax 15mm limited, mostly for it’s light weight and portability, I chose to buy the 10-20mm.

I was not disappointed. It’s much heavier and larger than I expected, so the 15 may still be in my future when I want to travel more compactly, but this lens gives me the range I wished for. Automatic focus has been fast and accurate. While I’ve only played with the manual focus option so far, the ease in which it works is greatly appreciated.
